Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using the ComplyShield website or scanning service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
ComplyShield provides automated website accessibility scans and delivers a plain-English report of findings. We may also connect you, at your request, with independent third-party developers or agencies who offer remediation services ("Remediation Partners"). ComplyShield is not a party to any agreement you enter into with a Remediation Partner and is not responsible for their work.
3. Not legal advice
The Service provides a technical review against common accessibility standards (such as WCAG). It is not legal advice, does not constitute a legal opinion, and does not guarantee compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the European Accessibility Act, or any other law or regulation. You should consult a qualified lawyer for advice specific to your business and jurisdiction.
4. Eligibility and acceptable use
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You agree to only submit websites you own or are authorized to scan, and not to use the Service to scan third-party websites without permission, to reverse-engineer or resell the Service, or to interfere with its normal operation.
5. Fees and billing
Free scans are provided at no cost, subject to the page limits described on our Pricing page. Paid monitoring plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor. You may cancel a paid plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except as described in our refund policy on the Pricing page or as required by law.
6. Intellectual property
ComplyShield and its logo, design, and underlying technology are our property or that of our licensors. Your scan report is yours to use for your own business purposes. You retain all rights to your website and its content.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Automated scanning cannot detect every possible accessibility issue, and we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully comprehensive.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ComplyShield and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ComplyShield harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for conduct that violates these terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or to us. You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where local consumer protection law requires otherwise for your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
